This course module on strengths and weaknesses as a leader is intended for leaders who are looking for new ways to leverage their personality and hedge their weaknesses. In a cross-cultural setting, it is much easier being pushed outside your comfort zone than in a mono-cultural setting. It is therefore utterly important that you are aware of your own strengths and weaknesses.?
This course module focuses on helping you to determine your cross-cultural strengths and weaknesses as a leader. It is not uncommon that leaders experience that everything they have learned and the skills they have developed are becoming less useful in a different cultural environment. That can be in a new country, a new organisation or when it comes to lead an outsourcing partner.
In this module, you will learn which strengths and weaknesses you have when leading or managing a multicultural team. Through personal assessments, you will become aware of areas you could work on and you will get the roadmap for a personal development plan.
The topics we cover are all about your strengths and weaknesses as a leader and what kind of leader you should develop into.?
- What do successful global leaders do?
- Assessment of current strengths and weaknesses.
- How to change and build on the strengths and hide your weaknesses.
- Personal development plan.
- What kind of leader do you really want to be?
Many of our clients choose to combine this particular course module about the strengths and weaknesses as a leader with a Gugin coaching?program. Strengths and weaknesses are relative to the context so it is important that the leader or aspiring leader can leverage his or her personality, experience and cultural background in the best possible way.
In the Gugin Coaching program, we work with all the aspects of you as a leader and develop a plan for you on how you can develop without burning out. The coaching sessions can be facilitated remotely, at your place or at Gugins facilities hidden away in the French Alps where no one can disturb you. The choice is yours.
Why should you choose intercultural training from Gugin?
From we started the company in 2001 we knew we would need an engine that could keep us ahead of the competition and constantly deliver world-class consultancy and training. The world is constantly changing and we need to change with it and ideally develop services that address the agenda of tomorrow. Gugin stands on 3 pillars: Consulting, Training and Research. They fuel each other with great ideas for innovation and service development. When, for instance, we are helping a company with corporate cultural change we might discover cross-cultural issues, we haven’t seen before. We then research it further and find a great solution to the client and we can upgrade our training portfolio.
So you will NEVER experience us using 50 years old research, like Hofstede’s cultural dimensions that promote cultural stereotypes based on nationalities. In fact, our research has shown that these stereotypes don’t exist and that if you are promoting stereotypes like “the french are like… and the Canadians are like…” you will just create more conflicts.
In everything we do, we focus on how you can synergies from the cultural diversity and our approach is generic. Bringing different nationalities together is no different from bringing different companies, different professions, different age-groups or different sub-cultures inside a company together. All our training gives you a generic tool for leveraging cultural diversity, no matter where it exists.
We develop generic cultural intelligence you can use every where
All our 1/2-day corporate training modules are designed as intensive, interactive learning modules. You can combine the training modules almost as you like. They can also fit into your existing training programs or corporate university curriculum. We also have longer, more in-depth courses. Please see the complete list of standard courses we offer. We also design a lot of specialised training and coaching programs together with our clients if the existings courses don’t meet the needs.
